    Couldnt care less staff, after booking two months in advance and asking for special sweet as Birthday celebration, were offered table wedged against the wall. After much shrugging of shoulders , asked if we would have a drink at the bar and wait a bit. This we did...ok food nothing special hugely overpriced. Forgot about the special sweet. Eventually arrived with a few scoops of ice cream and one shortbread biscuit which was stale,plus a couple of stale waffles.AND CHARGED £7.50.
    We dont mind paying if we are made to feel welcome...we certainly were not. Must point out up till last Saturday we visited every three months or so. I dont for a minute expect they will care, but we will never go or recommend CHIVES again
